Vacherot enjoys his Shanghai title: the Monegasque met Prince Albert II

The Shanghai Masters 1000 saw Valentin Vacherot triumph after an exceptional run.

Coming through the qualifiers, Valentin Vacherot will remember the 2025 Shanghai tournament for a very long time. The Monegasque won nine consecutive matches in the Chinese city, eliminating players like Bublik, Machac, Griekspoor, Rune, and Djokovic before dominating his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the final (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).

Winning his first ATP title at 26 years old, Vacherot made a leap in the rankings, moving from 204th to 40th place. While awaiting this change in status, Vacherot, who recently learned he received a wild card to participate in the ATP 500 in Basel, is still enjoying his title a little more.

Welcomed as a hero by Monegasques at Nice airport in recent hours, the player was subsequently received by Prince Albert II of Monaco, and Vacherot showed him the trophy he won in Shanghai.
