"For now, I don't have the energy for that," Halep dismisses possibility of becoming a coach in the near future

For now, I don't have the energy for that, Halep dismisses possibility of becoming a coach in the near future

Former world number one, Simona Halep is now enjoying her retirement. Present in Riyadh for the WTA Finals, the Romanian was asked about a possible career change after her playing days.

Halep ended her professional career last February, during the WTA 250 tournament in Cluj-Napoca. The former player, now 34 years old, saw the end of her career marred by a doping suspension as well as recurring injuries after her return to competition.

The person in question, who is present at the WTA Finals this week, was asked about the possibility of becoming a coach in the coming months. A question to which Halep responded in recent hours.

"For now, no, I'm not thinking about it, but it will probably be the case in the coming years. I don't have the energy for that. It would mean traveling again. Now, I prefer to stay at home more often. I worked for so many years, every day.

The pressure, the tension, everything was exhausting me. Now, I'm enjoying life and my free time. I no longer have fixed schedules. I can wake up in the morning and have nothing to do. I need rest. Even though I must say that I miss the adrenaline and the feeling of winning matches," Halep stated to Golazo.
