Stats - De Minaur and Gauff, the aces of the comeback in 2024

The year 2024 is over, and 2025 is about to begin again. To turn the page on the past season, it's customary to take stock of what we've seen on the ATP and WTA circuits.

A statistic offered by "Jeu, set et maths", an excellent X account specializing in tennis statistics, enables us to see which players have been the most effective in returning serve this year.

On the men's side, Alex De Minaur won the most points on return (41.8%). Confirming his status as a prodigious returner, the Australian was ahead of Novak Djokovic (41.7%) and Carlos Alcaraz (41.5%).

In the women's game, Coco Gauff (48.7%) is the most skilful player in this area of the game in 2024. Approaching the 50% mark for points won on relaunches, she is ahead of Suzan Lamens (48.4%) and Iga Swiatek (47.4%).
