This week's Rod Laver Arena is the venue for a number of clashes between top players, as they prepare for the Australian Open and acclimatize to the very special conditions in Melbourne.
On Wednesday, Alex de Minaur took on Carlos Alcaraz. The Australian won the first set 7-5, before losing the second 6-4. A super tie-break was then played between the two men.
Without a moment's hesitation, de Minaur won 10 points to 5, building his confidence ahead of the Australian Open, where he will be seeded n°8.
As for Alcaraz, who has not played in any preparatory tournaments, he continues to rack up playing time in his quest to win the Australian Open, the only Grand Slam he lacks.
