ATP Rankings: Alcaraz Closes In on Sinner, Medvedev Returns to the Top 10
The 25th week of the 2025 season, featuring the Queen's and Halle tournaments, has concluded. Carlos Alcaraz, who won the Queen's title after exiting in the second round last year, earned 450 points.
In contrast, world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, the defending champion in Halle, was defeated in the second round by Alexander Bublik and thus lost 450 points.
The gap between the top two players in the ATP rankings has narrowed by 900 points and now stands at 1,130 points.
However, the Spaniard will have to wait longer if he hopes to claim the world No. 1 spot, as he is the defending champion at Wimbledon and cannot gain additional points there.
Daniil Medvedev, a finalist in Halle, re-enters the Top 10 after dropping out in April. Jack Draper, a semifinalist at Queen's, climbs to a career-high ranking of No. 4, ensuring he won't face Sinner or Alcaraz before the Wimbledon semifinals.
Bublik, the Halle champion, surges 15 spots to No. 30 in the world. Marin Cilic, winner of the Nottingham Challenger, returns to the Top 100 for the first time in two years.
Hubert Hurkacz, who withdrew this week, loses points from last year's Halle final and drops 10 places to No. 39 in the rankings.
