After losing the first set, the Italians managed to come back to within a set of each other, before winning the final set with a break in the third game.

In the second semi-final, the Harri Heliovaara/Henry Patten pair won the third set tie-break against Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz.

The final will be played this Saturday in Melbourne, where the Bolelli/Vavassori pair will undoubtedly be slight favourites.
