100% success for French qualifiers in Marseille, Van Assche and Guinard lucky losers

100% success for French qualifiers in Marseille, Van Assche and Guinard lucky losers

Monday saw the second and final round of qualifying for the ATP 250 in Marseille. 6 French players were involved, including two 100% French matches.

All 4 qualifiers were French.

Hugo Grenier beat Lukas Klein 2-6, 7-6, 7-5. Arthur Gea beat Yosuke Watanuki 7-6, 6-4.

For his part, Clément Chidekh, despite being broken in the third set, eliminated Luca Van Assche 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

Finally, Pierre-Hugues Herbert beat Manuel Guinard 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Following the withdrawal of Lucas Pouille and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Van Assche and Guinard are now lucky losers.
