"This kind of temperature is something we have to endure," Swiatek discusses the heat in Cincinnati
During this American tour, players are facing temperatures reaching up to 40°C (104°F). While many have complained, for others like Swiatek, this situation simply has to be accepted given global warming.
"I think we should all be aware of climate change and try to minimize the negative impact on our planet. I like matches that are played early. This kind of temperature is something we have to endure—it's not impossible.
For that, maybe they could give us five extra seconds to use the towel and have more time to breathe, because it’s a bit more difficult."
Having qualified for the semifinals in Cincinnati, the Polish player will face Kazakhstan's world No. 10 Rybakina.
