Djokovic Shakes Up the Tennis World: "Our Traditions Hinder All Progress"

During a conference held before his match against Sinner, the world No. 1 delivered an unfiltered speech. Novak Djokovic lamented that a sport "as great and universal" is trapped by traditions that "hinder its evolution."
Present in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) to compete this Thursday in the Six Kings Slam against Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic also appeared with a microphone at a conference featuring several sports personalities.
The Serbian argued that tennis standards hinder "innovation" and potential changes:
"Tennis has always been an elite sport, it is built on that foundation... That's a good thing because we have a heritage, a tradition, and a history that we are proud of, and it is a very international sport.
But it has enormous potential that is being left untapped, which is regrettable. It hinders innovation, it sabotages it, because you have to behave in a certain way, the way we are used to seeing people talk or play."
