Djokovic justifies his choice of Murray: "He knows the evolution of my game".

Novak Djokovic was present at Media Day in Melbourne.

A few days before the start of the Australian Open, he spoke about his new coach, Andy Murray.

The Serb explains why he hired him: "It's a pleasure to have Andy as my coach. I was thinking about the names I'd like to have by my side this season.

I wanted someone who had won several Grand Slams. The list isn't very long.

Someone who really understands what it means to win a Grand Slam, to face adversity, pressure and expectations.

Andy had just finished his professional career six months ago.

It was a surprise for him when I called, but I think his tennis IQ is very high. We all know that.

The first time we played each other was when we were 12. He knows the evolution of my game, my strengths and weaknesses.

He also knows the game of the best players in the world at the moment, having just retired as a player.

Until recently, he trained and played against the best in the world, so he's aware of what's happening on the circuit.

We're still getting to know each other on the court.

He motivates me, really inspires me to spend time on the court. We communicate a lot, talk about lots of different things.
