Djokovic withdraws from Davis Cup match against Denmark
Serbia will be without its Davis Cup legend. With a leg injury sustained at the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic, who was already suffering against Carlos Alcaraz, was unable to complete his semi-final against Alexander Zverev in Melbourne.
The German, number 2 in the world, qualified for the final after benefiting from the withdrawal of the ten-time tournament winner at the end of the first set.
Next up for Novak Djokovic was the Davis Cup tie against Denmark in Copenhagen from January 31 to February 2.
But an injury sustained during the Australian fortnight forced the man with 24 Grand Slam titles to withdraw. Djokovic confirmed this to local media Sport Klub.
Djokovic, who also plans to play in the Doha tournament in three weeks' time, is also unsure whether he will be able to keep his place in Qatar.
In the absence of the world No. 7, Serbia will be represented by Miomir Kecmanovic, Laslo Djere and Hamad Medjedovic to take on Holger Rune's Denmark.
