Sinner after Auger-Aliassime: "In the first set, it was very high-level"
Jannik Sinner successfully made his debut at the Turin Masters. Defeating a combative but hampered Félix Auger-Aliassime, the Italian delivered a solid performance.
Asked after his victory (7-5, 6-1), the world number 2 said this:
"In the first set, the level was exceptional. I had chances at 5-4, but I missed two returns at 15-30 and 30-40. Felix played very well, he changed a few things compared to our last final in Paris. Unfortunately, I noticed that Felix had a physical problem. Obviously, you never want to win like that."
Finally, the Italian knows that the road to another title will not be easy. In his opinion, his group (Zverev, Shelton, Auger-Aliassime) will leave no room for error.
"I am in a very strong group, with big servers. If you lose concentration even for a moment, it's over. Today, I wanted to start strong, to be aggressive. In these kinds of matches, everything can be decided by two or three points."
