United States in United Cup quarter-finals, Croatia eliminated

Final group match in Group A. The USA face Croatia with a clear objective.

If they win, the USA will be in the quarters, while Croatia can bounce back with a win after losing to Canada.

In the opening match, Taylor Fritz, the man in form on the ATP circuit since the end of last season, takes on Borna Coric.

After a match lasting 1 hour 31 minutes, it was the world's 4th-ranked player who came out on top (6-3, 6-2).

Coco Gauff then took on Donna Vekic. The American, who won the WTA Finals in November and defeated Leylah Fernandez in her first match of the season, repeated the feat, leaving her opponent with nothing but scraps (6-4, 6-2).

Even before the mixed doubles, the USA, who had already beaten Canada, finished the group phase unbeaten and were guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals.

By contrast, with two defeats in two matches, Croatia is eliminated.
