Gauff continues on his way in the second week of the Australian Open

Coco Gauff continues her run at the first Grand Slam of the season. The American, seeded number 3, confirms that she is in good form at the start of the season.

After her wins over Sofia Kenin and Jodie Burrage in two sets, the winner of the WTA Finals in November didn't spend much time on court in her third round match at the Australian Open either.

Facing US Open 2021 finalist Leylah Fernandez, Gauff showed her superiority quite quickly.

With 18 winners, 4 breaks and 5 aces in 1h15 of play, the 20-year-old won 6-4, 6-2.

This is the second time this season that Gauff has got the better of the Canadian, after their clash at the United Cup. This is her 10th consecutive win.

Coco Gauff, last year's semi-finalist, continues on her way and sees her ranking gradually taking shape.

She will meet Belinda Bencic, who defeated Naomi Osaka on retirement, in the Round of 16, before possibly facing Jessica Pegula, Paula Badosa or Olga Danilovic in the quarters.
