Collins looks back on his celebration: I love playing in front of an energetic crowd.

Danielle Collins was the talk of the Australian Open courts this Thursday.

After tensions with the Australian public during her match against Destanee Aiava, the American, ranked 11th in the world, celebrated her victory by taunting the spectators, who began whistling at her, including during her on-court interview.

Present at a press conference a few minutes after her qualification for the third round, the 2022 finalist spoke of the incident, but she has no regrets - quite the contrary.

"I love playing in front of a crowd full of energy. It's something that motivates me even more, especially when I'm not necessarily playing well. In the end, I'd say it helped.

The audience helped me to concentrate. It was a challenge at times, but it pushed me even harder to cross the finish line.

One of the good things about being a top sportswoman is that people who don't like you and hate you pay your bills for you. What a concept!

Of course, my career won't last forever, so I remind myself every day that they pay my bills.

All the people who pay a ticket to come here and unsettle me, heckle me and do what they do... It all ends up in Danielle Collins' pocket.

My group of friends and I love five-star vacations. I can guarantee you that this check from the Australian Open will be used for our next vacation, which I hope will be to the Bahamas," Collins assured reporters.

"his" celebration? I'm all for pronouns but don't believe she's indicated she identifies as male
