A former employee of the Court of Arbitration for Sport gives his opinion on the Sinner case: "We can't rule out the possibility of negotiations to avoid a trial".

A former employee of the Court of Arbitration for Sport gives his opinion on the Sinner case: We can't rule out the possibility of negotiations to avoid a trial.

Jannik Sinner will start the 2025 season without knowing what will happen to him when the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules on his positive clostebol test.

This appeal will not be heard until February, as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) recently revealed its schedule of hearings.

While we await the outcome of this case, Angelo Cascella, a former CAS employee, commented on what could happen to Sinner: "There is a risk of a suspension of between one and two years.

But we can't rule out the possibility of negotiations between Sinner, WADA and CAS to avoid a trial and find an agreement that suits all parties."

But if no negotiations are reached, Sinner could see his 2025 year disrupted, as Angelo Cascella confides: "To issue a sanction, if the case goes to trial, CAS could rehear witnesses and the experts employed by Sinner.

I think the judgment could be long and complicated."
