Rybakina had a scare against Badosa but qualifies

Elena Rybakina faced Paula Badosa in the last 16 of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai.

The Kazakh started badly, losing the first set 6-4.

She rallied in the second set, which was a tight affair, but Rybakina won the tie-break 10-8.

She served for the match in the third set, but was debreaked and even had to save two match points on her serve at 6-5.

She finally managed to take Badosa to the tie-break in the third, which she won 7-2.

She won a marathon match lasting 2 hours and 51 minutes, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6. In the quarter-finals, she will face Sofia Kenin, who earlier defeated Jasmine Paolini with an ankle injury.
