Paolini reassures after his injury in Dubai: "I don't think it's serious".
The title-holder of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai didn't finish this 2025 edition in the expected manner.
World number 4 Jasmine Paolini was eliminated in the last 16 in the United Arab Emirates. Against Sofia Kenin, the Italian lost in two sets (6-4, 6-0) in a match in which she fell on the third point of the second set.
Injuring her ankle, Paolini insisted on continuing the match, but didn't play a single game afterwards. This incident forced her to withdraw from the remainder of the doubles tournament, in which she was entered with her usual partner, Sara Errani.
On her X account (formerly Twitter), Jasmine Paolini gave an update, although she does not yet know the exact nature of her injury.
"I'm sincerely sorry to have been forced to withdraw from the doubles tournament in Dubai. It's frustrating, but it's the right decision.
I don't think it's serious, but I'll go for tests as soon as possible and hope to be back very soon. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it!" wrote Paolini on the social network.
