Dubai authorities react after Raducanu's harassment: "The individual has been banned from future tournaments".
Two days after Emma Raducanu was harassed during her 2nd round in Dubai by an individual who had been following her since Monday, the Dubai authorities issued a statement on the subject on Thursday.
They announced that they had taken action against the man, although the player had decided to withdraw her complaint: "The Dubai authorities have taken swift action regarding the incident involving British tennis star Emma Raducanu.
Following Raducanu's complaint, the police arrested a tourist who had approached her, left her a note, taken a photo of her and behaved in such a way as to put her in a distressing situation during the tournament.
While Raducanu decided to drop the charges, the individual signed a formal undertaking to keep his distance from her and was banned from future tournaments.
The City of Dubai remains committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors to the emirate."
