From 204th to 40th: Vacherot makes the 2nd biggest jump for a first entry into the top 100

Valentin Vacherot didn't just win matches this week, he also defied the odds by making a historic leap. By entering the ATP Top 100 for the first time, the Monegasque player climbs 164 spots in the rankings: a very rare surge.

Since the early 1990s, only Vladimir Voltchkov has done better with a jump of 168 spots. To put this achievement in perspective, names like Bernard Tomic (+87) or Roberto Carretero (+85) are far behind.

The ATP Top 100 is as much a symbolic barrier as a sporting one. Many talented players approach it without ever entering. For someone like Vacherot, who was still ranked 246th in the world not long ago, to make such a breakthrough is exceptional.

Not widely covered by the media, the 26-year-old player represents the Principality of Monaco. Trained in the United States, he recently strung together several good results on the Challenger circuit, confirming his potential on both hard court and clay.
