Absent in Toronto and Cincinnati, Bublik kicked off a fictional football match in Russia
Alexander Bublik is saving himself for the US Open. Absent from the tour since his back-to-back titles on the clay courts of Gstaad and Kitzbühel in late July, the Kazakh then decided not to compete in the two North American Masters 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati. He is expected to arrive fresh for the season's final Grand Slam in New York at the end of August.
In the meantime, the world No. 27, who is likely to be seeded in the American capital, is enjoying some downtime. The player, who has already won three titles in 2025 and reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Roland Garros, was spotted in Saint Petersburg in recent hours.
During the Russian Cup match between Zenit and Rubin Kazan on Tuesday, Bublik symbolically kicked off the game at the Gazprom Arena.
