Alcaraz full of admiration for Thiem: "He's had a great career."

Dominic Thiem, freshly retired after his 1st round defeat in Vienna, has received praise from Carlos Alcaraz for his entire career.

Carlos Alcaraz, who was still a long way from the Top 10 during the Austrian's heyday, was keen to praise the latter's achievements: "I've shared a few tournaments with him. In 2020, at my first ATP tournament in Rio, I had the chance to train with him. I was very happy. I saw him beat the best, win great tournaments. He's had a great career."

An admiration that has served as an example to his family: "We all hold Dominic in high esteem".
