Alcaraz crushes Martinez to reach last four in Rotterdam

Carlos Alcaraz made short work of Pedro Martinez in his quarter-final on Friday evening (6-2, 6-1).

Faced with an opponent who is not a fan of indoor conditions, the world No.3 played his tennis to the hilt and quickly overwhelmed Martinez, never conceding a break point.

Following this solid performance, Alcaraz is now through to the semi-finals, where he awaits the winner of the match between Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev.

This is his first semi-final appearance in a tournament since Beijing last October, when he beat Jannik Sinner in the final.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.
