Alcaraz on his training with Sinner: "We discussed in Paris the possibility of training in Turin"
The two best players in the world trained together in recent hours on the Center Court in Turin, just hours before the start of the ATP Finals.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been the two protagonists of the 2025 season. The top two in the ATP rankings once again shared the Grand Slam titles and faced each other five times in official competition (four wins for the Spaniard and one for the Italian).
To best prepare for the ATP Finals starting this Sunday in Turin, Sinner and Alcaraz trained together in recent hours. The world number 2 reflected on this time spent with his rival.
"We discussed in Paris the possibility of training here in Turin. We already know each other very well. It's a privilege to train with him, it's one of the aspects that makes this tournament unique. There are eight players, the best ones, and you can train with them.
It's not my case, but some players, when they see the draw, don't want to train with those they are going to face later. For me, it's a great opportunity to be able to train with Jannik (Sinner). It's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last.
We are not going to gain any information, because we already know each other very well, but we give each other the rhythm to start well," assured Alcaraz, who then discussed the taping on his ankle.
"I feel better and better and freer in my movements on the court. I will play with taping, as a precaution. Before, I also played with taping, but it limited my movements a lot.
Now, we are gradually removing layers so that the ankle gains strength and stability. I am moving better and better and I am already sliding with my left leg, which indicates that I am more relaxed and confident," concluded the Spaniard for Marca.
