However, Alcaraz, who was eliminated in the second round in New York, has not forgotten his usual fair play.
A few hours after the Italian's triumph on Sunday, he congratulated his rival: "Congratulations Jannik. You deserve it! Enjoy the moment!"

"Almost" is an accurate qualifier. Because the biggest challenge of the top players is to play at a high level consistently. So far these two young players haven't proven they can do that. Helping though is the fact none of the other top players, many who have been around for years, aren't consistent either.
