Alcaraz: "We're going to have to sweat a lot if we want to qualify".

Alcaraz: We're going to have to sweat a lot if we want to qualify.

Carlos Alcaraz wants to bounce back.

After a disappointing second-round exit at the hands of Van de Zandschulp (6-1, 7-5, 6-4) in New York, the El Palmar prodigy is determined to get back on the winning track.

To this end, he has decided to move to Valencia to help Spain secure a place in the Davis Cup finals.

Placed in a rather tough group (France, Australia, Czech Republic), the Spaniards will need to be very solid if they are to reach the quarter-finals, scheduled for Malaga in November.

Questioned at the press conference, the world number 3 admitted himself that the task would not be easy: "When I saw our group, I said to myself: 'Well, we're going to have to sweat a lot if we want to qualify'.

I haven't been able to play many Davis Cup matches yet, so I'm really looking forward to feeling the love from the fans.

I had a few days to calm my mind after my defeat at the US Open.

We thought the best thing was to get back into training to get ready physically."
