Alexander Bublik emerged victorious in the final of the Hangzhou tournament against Valentin Royer. He won with a score of 7-6, 7-6, but the Frenchman pushed him to bring out his best.
Interviewed by the ATP after the match, the Kazakh was impressed by his opponent: "He played incredibly, and I didn't expect that.
He was close to that level during the tournament, and he surpassed it. He played well and I really had to serve and do my best to win. I served and hit incredible shots throughout the match and won by just a few points."
This title allows Bublik to rank 12th in the Race and fuels hopes for a possible participation in the ATP Finals.
As for Royer, this run helps solidify his position in the Top 100, which he entered a few weeks ago.
