Anisimova: "If you had told me a year ago that I would be playing the WTA Finals, I would have had a hard time believing it."
Amanda Anisimova has qualified for the semifinals of the WTA Finals and will face Aryna Sabalenka this Friday. The American is having an excellent 2025 season, while her best ranking in 2024 was world No. 36.
She revealed to Tennis.com that she did not expect such a season: "If you had told me a year ago that I would be playing the WTA Finals, I would have had a hard time believing it.
I think I surprised myself throughout my journey, that's for sure. I achieved goals that I dreamed of at the beginning of the year and that I didn't think I could accomplish."
