ATP: Night Matches Finally Under Control, New Rules Take Effect!
Faced with the issue of matches ending late at night and causing problems regarding player fatigue and recovery, the ATP had decided to take action starting in 2024.
Promising Results
To address this, it notably decided to no longer accept more than 5 matches per day on a single court, that an evening session must start no later than 7:30 PM, and that no match would begin after 11 PM.
Thanks to these measures, the number of matches ending after midnight on the ATP Tour in 2025 is 39, compared to 50 in 2024, 52 in 2023, and 59 in 2022, as shown by the statistics shared by the X account Parsa_Nemati.
