Barty does not consider a return to the top level: "I love being at home"
Ashleigh Barty should not make her return to the WTA tour. The former world number 1, now 29 years old, had announced her retirement to general surprise in early 2022, just after winning the Australian Open against Danielle Collins.
The one who also won Roland-Garros 2019 and Wimbledon 2021 preferred to say stop at 25 years old and while she was at the top of the rankings. A few years later, Barty has no regrets and plans to enjoy her two children.
"My priority is to enjoy my children and my family"
"I don't regret it at all, that's for sure. I've always been very home-loving and I love being at home. I love spending time with my children, my sisters, my nieces and my nephew.
Obviously, my priority and my goal for the moment are to enjoy my children and my family, to see them grow and evolve. I love my life. I love my children.
I love watching them learn and try new things and I look forward to enjoying the next few years with them," Barty assured in an interview with the media The New Daily.
