Before facing Halys, Rune remains wary: "He plays well on grass".

Before facing Halys, Rune remains wary: He plays well on grass.

Holger Rune hasn't really impressed this season. Ranked 7th in the world in January, the Dane hasn't been at the top of the rankings for some time, and this week finds himself ranked 15th.

After two well-controlled opening matches, the 21-year-old is now set to take on a rampant Quentin Halys. Despite his low ranking of 222nd this week, the Frenchman has been putting in a string of fine performances since entering the qualifying rounds last week.

Having knocked out Khachanov in the second round, Halys is now looking to do the same to Rune. As a result, the quarter-finalist at the last edition of Wimbledon (beaten by Alcaraz) remains on his guard:

"He needs to be confident, because he's just beaten Khachanov and Karen is a tough player. I know Halys a little. I've trained with him a few times. He has a very good serve and a good forehand. In general, he plays well on grass.

I think he's doing well. I certainly need to study him a bit statistically, watch videos of him and prepare as I always do for matches."
