Berrettini wins his second consecutive ATP title!

Matteo Berrettini seems to be back on track.

In the midst of a season greatly disrupted by a recalcitrant physique, the Italian giant has visibly managed to think his wounds over and is now putting in a string of fine performances.

After a promising season on grass, the Transalpine, despite missing out on the Olympic Games, returned to clay and has not looked back.

After winning the title in Gstaad last week, he repeated the feat this week with victory in Kitzbuhel.

Efficient on serve, precise in the exchange and as destructive as ever on the forehand, the former world no. 6 is a big winner.

This Saturday, in the final against a very good Hugo Gaston, he repeated his preferred game sequences over and over again.
Dictating the game with his serve and forehand (27 winners, 5 unforced errors, 8 aces), he kept a tight rein on the Frenchman (14 winners, 8 unforced errors) to claim his third title of the season (7-5, 6-3 in 1h20).

Ranked 95th in the world at the start of the summer, he will be 40th on Monday and could well be one of the main outsiders at the end of the season, especially given Berrettini's love of fast surfaces.
