Boris Becker: 'Something Must Change Radically' for Iga Swiatek After Shock Wimbledon Exit
Eliminated in the third round, Swiatek's form raises doubts. Boris Becker calls for a radical change, saying the former world No. 1 is no longer at the expected level.
Iga Swiatek is going through a period of doubt. The Pole could not defend her title at Wimbledon, eliminated in the third round by Alexandra Eala.
In the Becker Petkovic podcast, Boris Becker spoke about Swiatek and expressed his view on her situation.
"I think about who disappointed at Wimbledon, if we say who should have gone further, among the women, I would say Iga Swiatek, because I have seen her play much better.
She has to understand where she is now. As a Wimbledon winner and former world No. 1, this is simply no longer enough. Something must change.
I don't know her in detail. She always has new coaches by her side, new playing styles, her psychologist is always with her… It's good to disconnect and really think.
She's a young woman, only in the middle of her career, far from over, but something must change radically for her to get back on the winning path.
That's my opinion, because women's tennis hasn't changed much since she won big tournaments. So, something is wrong on her side."
