After a disappointing Wimbledon for Iga Swiatek, eliminated in the third round by Alexandra Eala, criticism is intensifying.

Boris Becker, a tennis legend, delivered a blunt assessment of the Pole's current situation on his podcast.

A disappointment befitting her talent

For the former German champion, the verdict is clear: Iga Swiatek underperformed on the London grass.

« If you ask who should have gone further in the women's draw, I would say Iga Swiatek, because I have seen her play at a much higher level. She needs to understand where she stands today.

As a Grand Slam winner and former world No. 1, this is simply no longer enough. Something has to change. »

Necessary changes in her entourage

The German's analysis also focuses on the structure surrounding the player.

While acknowledging that she is only in the middle of her career, he questions the instability of her coaching staff:

« She always has new coaches by her side, new playing styles, and her psychologist is always there... Sometimes it's good to cut everything off and reset.

Something is wrong with her right now. A radical change is needed for her to find her way back to winning. »
