De Minaur: "My ultimate goal? To catch up with Sinner and Alcaraz"
Alex de Minaur finishes the 2025 season in 7th place with a fine semifinal at the ATP Finals. However, he shows a more than negative record against Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz: 0-13 against the Italian and 0-5 against the Spaniard.
In a discussion with Greg Rusedski on the Off Court with Greg podcast, he talked about his preseason and what he was working on to try to improve against the best.
A desire to improve on serve
"The ultimate goal in men's tennis is to try to catch up with these two players. They have been dominating this sport for two years. I am in the middle of preseason preparation and actively getting ready. There are certain technical aspects I want to work on and improve.
Serving is a long-term project. It's something I dedicate a huge number of hours to. I'm also looking to increase the average speed of my rally balls. We see with Carlos and Jannik that their average rally ball speed is extremely high, and we are working to reach that level."
