De Minaur on his injury: "Everything will be fine, I'll find a way".
Alex De Minaur apparently suffered an injury while concluding match point against Arthur Fils, on a final volley in extension (see video below). The Australian seemed to have either an ankle or a back injury, so it's hard to say.
With his face closed and worried as he was supposed to be celebrating his qualification for the quarter-finals, his first at Wimbledon, the Australian was nevertheless quite upbeat in the post-match interview.
Alex De Minaur: "I'll be fine, I'll find a way... It's incredible, I'm so proud of myself, to be in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.
What I'm most proud of is that I managed to get out of it (laughs). I made things more complicated for myself than they might have been, but I'm happy to have got through. I did a great job mentally, staying in the match even if I couldn't hold my serve at the end (to close the match). But I was good on the return, so I'm very happy with that.
I don't have a preference between playing Rune or Djokovic. I'm just excited to be in the quarters, to have another battle, to give myself another chance.
One thing you can definitely count on is that I'll go out on the court and try my best and play my best."
