Le Serbe, déjà assuré de redevenir n°1 mondial à l'issue du tournoi, n'a pas eu besoin de trop forcer face à Gojo, malgré une petite alerte en début de 2e set. Plus tôt, Fritz était parvenu à contenir la fougue de Stricker.
