Eva Lys on Swiatek's suspension: "Everyone deserves equal opportunities".

Eva Lys on Swiatek's suspension: Everyone deserves equal opportunities.

Reaction to Iga Swiatek's positive test for trimetazidine has been intense. The Pole, world number 2, was suspended for a month and served her sentence during the Asian tour last October.

On social networks, players are not hesitating to react, as in the case of Eva Lys, a 22-year-old German ranked 133rd in the world. She is calling for more uniformity in decisions, regardless of players' status.

"What about the players who ate infected meat in South America? Why wasn't Tara Moore suspended for a month?" asks the native of Kiev, Ukraine.

"I'm starting to come to the conclusion that not everyone goes through this process on an equal footing.

There are a lot of lower-ranked players who aren't treated in the same way as those at the top.

I'm not saying everyone is innocent, I'm saying everyone deserves equal opportunities," she concluded on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
