Eva Lys, lucky-loser following Anna Kalinskaya's withdrawal from the main draw, is enjoying the best week of her career.

The German successively eliminated Kimberly Birrell, Varvara Gracheva and Jaqueline Cristian in the 3rd round on Saturday.

These unexpected results will enable her to play the first round of 16 of her Grand Slam career on Monday, against world No.2 Iga Swiatek.

The current world No.128 revealed that she originally had a flight scheduled to leave Australia tomorrow, but her plans have now changed: "Last week, I was preparing for my flight, which was the following day.

It's a completely crazy story... How it happened, how quickly it happened.

Then we booked a flight for tomorrow. Now, after the press conference, we'll try to change it.

It's really fun. We'd just picked a date. We said, 'Okay, Sunday's in six days' time. We're going to pick that day. I'm glad we have to change it now."
