Varvara Gracheva faced Eva Lys in the second round of the Australian Open. She lost in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, in 1h58 of play.
The German had been drafted out of qualifying ten minutes before her first round match and had already booked her return flight.
She reached the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career. She will face the winner of the match between Jaqueline Cristian and Lucia Bronzetti.
