Evert: "I think they protect the best players".
The Jannik Sinner doping affair continues to cause a stir.
As a reminder, the Transalpine was cleared after testing positive twice in March, then proving to the authorities that he had been unknowingly contaminated through a massage by one of his team members.
Reactions to this decision continue to pour in. Now it's the turn of former tennis legends to have their say.
In a statement relayed by Tennis365, Chris Evert gave his opinion on the matter: "I think they (the tennis authorities) protect the best players.
By protect, I mean: they're going to keep it secret for a few months.
They'll keep certain things secret if you're a top player because they don't want the press.
So I think there's a certain amount of protection, more so than if you were Joe Smith, ranked 400th in the world."
