For Patrick McEnroe, there's one favourite we haven't thought of yet

Tuesday sees the start of the quarter-finals at Roland Garros. More than ever, the question of who will win the title is on everyone's lips. On the women's side, the question seems to have been quickly resolved, given Swiatek's undisputed domination, but on the men's side, the debate is still raging.

In this respect, Patrick McEnroe's opinion is very interesting. Indeed, in an open question, he wonders whether Grigor Dimitrov might not enter the discussion: "Could Grigor really do it?".

What is certain is that the Bulgarian is having a superb tournament in Paris, as demonstrated by his fine victory over Hurkacz in the eighth round (7-6, 6-4, 7-6). Above all, the world No. 10 will be trying to climb a mountain called Jannik Sinner.

I can remember thinking Dimitrov had a lot of potential when he was an up and coming. But he got to a point where if he was going to progress in the rankings his game was going to have to improve. But it didn't. Like many, he reached his peak short of what was needed. I'm actually glad to see him playing at a higher level more consistently now. However, part of his problem is the mental aspect of the game. He tends to collapse the greater the pressure gets and I strongly suspect that's what we'll see here again. Sure, he'll be competitive, but likely Sinner will easily take control of this match pretty quickly.
