Fritz praises Sinner: "He's the best player in the world right now".
In front of the media in Turin, Taylor Fritz revealed that he has a lot of admiration for Jannik Sinner, and that the lost US Open final served as a learning experience for him.
Having qualified for the Masters for the second time in his career, the American has undoubtedly played the best season of his career, culminating in a Grand Slam final played in front of his home crowd at the US Open.
Even though he was beaten in three sets that day by the world No.1, Fritz admitted that he had used the defeat to improve his game: "It's great to be back in Turin two years later. Jannik is the best player in the world right now, and he showed that clearly in the US Open final.
I learned a lot from that match, too much in fact. Mainly about the aspects of my game that I need to improve. Jannik deserves to be No. 1 in the world, and it was an honor to play this final against the best player in the world."
