Garcia, Krejcikova, Collins: Friday, August 8 Schedule in Cincinnati
Fresh off Victoria Mboko’s title win in Montreal, the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati continues with the remainder of the first round matches throughout the day in Ohio. In what is the penultimate tournament of her professional career, Caroline Garcia will begin her campaign against Sonay Kartal early in the day on Center Court.
At 1 a.m. French time, one of the day’s marquee matchups in the women’s draw will feature Alycia Parks against Barbora Krejcikova. Three women’s tournament matches will take place on the Grandstand, including Danielle Collins taking on her compatriot Taylor Townsend.
Shortly after, Maria Sakkari will face Kamilla Rakhimova, and in the evening session, Catherine McNally will go up against Maddison Inglis. On Court 3, there will also be two matches scheduled: Ann Li vs. Viktoriya Tomova and Anastasija Sevastova vs. Emina Bektas.
On Court 3, two women’s matches will kick off the day. First, Caroline Dolehide will play against Rebecca Sramkova, followed by Varvara Gracheva entering the fray. The French qualifier will take on Katie Volynets.
On Court 10, Zhu Lin will face Lucia Bronzetti, and later in the day, Suzan Lamens will challenge Veronika Kudermetova. As for the other courts, Lulu Sun has drawn Antonia Ruzic, while Anna Bondar will go up against Ajla Tomljanovic.
Three matches will follow on Court 7: Anna Blinkova vs. Kimberly Birrell, Moyuka Uchijima vs. Camila Osorio, and Wang Xinyu vs. Emiliana Arango. Finally, on Court 9, another Frenchwoman will be in action—Léolia Jeanjean. She will face Yuliia Starodubtseva before the clash between Polina Kudermetova and Ella Seidel.
