Goncalo Oliveira, tested positive for methamphetamine, provisionally suspended

Goncalo Oliveira, ranked 194th in the world in singles and 77th in doubles, has been provisionally suspended by the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency).

The Venezuelan tested positive for methamphetamine, a banned substance, in a sample he provided on November 25, 2024.

The ITIA press release states: "Methamphetamine is a non-specified substance and Oliveira did not have a valid TUE for it.

The results of the investigation for non-specified substances result in a mandatory provisional suspension.

In Oliveira's case, this measure has been in force since January 17, 2025.

Players have the right to appeal the provisional suspension decision before an independent tribunal chairman.

Oliveira did not appeal. During his provisional suspension, Oliveira is prohibited from playing, coaching or attending any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by ITIA members (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association."
