Hopman Cup: France Led by Gasquet and Paquet Defeats Croatia, Tsitsipas' Greece Falls to Spain

The second day of the 2025 Hopman Cup featured matches between France and Croatia in Group B and Greece and Spain in Group A.

Represented by Richard Gasquet and Chloé Paquet, France secured victory thanks to Donna Vekic's withdrawal from the mixed doubles. Vekic had previously won her singles match against Paquet (6-3, 6-3), before Gasquet—who came out of retirement for the event—leveled the tie by defeating Duje Ajdukovic (5-7, 6-2, 10-6).

Tomorrow, France will face Italy for a spot in the final. Croatia, meanwhile, has been eliminated.

In the other match of the day, Greece lost to Spain after the two singles matches. Stefanos Tsitsipas, struggling with confidence in recent weeks, failed to regain form as he fell to Roberto Bautista Agut (6-3, 6-7, 10-8), while Marina Bassols dominated Despina Papamichail (6-0, 6-4).

Group A will see Canada enter the competition tomorrow, represented by Félix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu. They will face Spain before taking on Greece on Saturday.
