Humbert misses out against De Minaur
Alex De Minaur will be playing in the final on the grass of 'S-Hertogenbosh. In the semi-finals on Saturday, the world n°9 dominated Ugo Humbert after 1 hour and 45 minutes in a match that could have taken a completely different turn.
Trailing 4-0 after just 15 minutes, the Frenchman went on to win 5 consecutive games and even had 2 first-set points on his opponent's serve (4-5, 15-40). But the Aussie held his nerve to take the set in the tie-break.
The opportunity had passed for Humbert, and the difference was made for De Minaur, who was never again troubled by the Frenchman on his service games. He conceded just 6 points on his serve in the second set and finally broke in the eighth game (5-3) to close out the match (7-6, 6-3).
In Sunday's final, the Australian will probably have his work cut out against Sebastian Korda, who seems to have rediscovered his best tennis on Dutch grass.
