Humbert spoils Fils' birthday party and returns to winning ways
After 3 consecutive defeats and even 5 in 6 matches since his quarter-final loss to Casper Ruud in Monte-Carlo (included in the 6), Ugo Humbert returned to winning ways at 'S-Hertogenbosch.
The Frenchman, seeded n°3 in the event and exempt from the first round, dominated his compatriot Arthur Fils, who turned 20 on Wednesday and will therefore not be celebrating with his second victory of the season on grass.
Winner in 1 hour, 26 minutes and two sets (6-3, 7-6), Humbert will face Dutchman Gijs Brouwer, who defeated Adrian Mannarino, in the quarter-finals.
