"I hope the negative period is definitely over," assures Paolini after her win against Jovic at the US Open

Jasmine Paolini has qualified for the third round of the US Open. The world No. 8 confirmed her success against Destanee Aiava by dominating Iva Jovic (6-3, 6-3). In the round of 16, the two-time Grand Slam singles finalist will face Marketa Vondrousova in a marquee matchup.
In the meantime, the Italian appeared at a press conference after her victory over the 17-year-old American player. The 29-year-old Paolini hopes the toughest part is behind her after a rollercoaster season so far.
"The main goal is to maintain a good level of tennis, but I would be lying if I said finals aren't a goal. I know it will be very difficult, but I will try to do everything to give myself a chance.
Now, I think I have found stability, serenity, and balance. I had a moment of personal growth; there were many changes I had never faced before, and that allowed me to start knowing myself better.
The week in Montreal was the most complicated. I surrounded myself with people who love me, with my team, and I was able to count on the support of my family. We worked a lot, and from Cincinnati onward, things improved.
This part of the season was difficult, mentally and physically, but little by little, I found the right balance, and I hope the negative period is definitely over," Paolini told Tennis World Italia.
