Iga Swiatek defeated Elena Rybakina and advanced to the final of the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati, where she will face Jasmine Paolini.

Interviewed on court after the match, the Pole expressed satisfaction with her performance: "So I’ll have to prepare well tactically, but I also need to stay focused on myself and what I’m doing because I feel like I’m improving a lot in this tournament.

I just want to keep playing well, no matter the result or the opponent. Against Rybakina, it was a very tough match. At the start, the level was pretty insane.

We were playing so fast that sometimes we couldn’t even run to reach the second ball. I was there to play with intensity and quality. I’m very happy with my performance.

I served really well, which helped me a lot, and I wouldn’t change anything about today’s match.
